Board Action:

• CCFP budget for 2024 was approved

Topics of interest:

• One of the public speakers mentioned 2023 was a very different year because the focus was not on budget issues and lack of funds but on actually implementing the plan. She said that the goal of conservation and land management of 30,000 acres by 2040 is on target and that they are halfway there.
• A partnership agreement with the Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards in Sleepy Hollow was approved. The Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards are a NFP and have received a $27,000 grant through the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation’s Community Stewardship Challenge Grant program supporting 10 acres of habitat restoration at Schaumburg Road Grasslands in Streamwood. The projects consists of invasive shrubs clearing, and the collection and dispersion of native seeds which should be done in at least 20 volunteer work days.
• With the CTA extension of Red Line there was a land transfer to the CTA and then other public land would be transferred to Beaubien Woods. Beaubien Woods has now a new (different) entrance and a new trail.
